• In April 2007 we demonstrated a simple Rocket Stove on the Green Gathering (Vida Verde) event in Portugal. In these articles you read how we made our demo model and what we developed for use in our own house.

Electricity from the Sun

• The expression alternative energy gradually has lost some of it's original meaning. For years alternative energy was referring to small-scale projects where fossil fuels were not used in favour of solar, water and wind energy. Nowadays alternative energy sources are known under the name 'green energy', and it's big business. Large areas with solar panels and mountain tops crowded with windmills are competing with hydro power plants where the reservoir fills complete valleys gobbling up villages and all.

While oil prices are summiting, for many people the term solar energy still has a magic ring: clean energy, generated without noise by fascinating twinkling panels...

Re-use and Repair

• Once re-use and repair was customary. Material costs were high and wages relatively low. With the increasing wealth soon this all became `not done'. But then suddenly there was a renewed focus on re-use, but then as a Design-Item.
